Veenmeester is at the Anuga Trade Fair

Admittedly, it's still a while off, but we're proud to announce that Veenmeester will be exhibiting at the Anuga Trade Fair 2025 in Cologne. From October 4th to 8th, we'll be showcasing our finest cheeses at one of the world's largest food trade fairs.

At the Anuga Trade Fair, buyers, retailers, and food experts from around the world will be introduced to new, innovative products. Or in our case: sustainable cheese from the Netherlands. This way, we create broader support for environmentally friendly cheeses, and people will soon be able to enjoy delicious and, above all, sustainable cheese in even more places.

New trends and developments

Besides introducing our own cheese, we also enjoy drawing inspiration from trends in clean-label foods and developments in sustainable production processes. This allows us to continue taking new steps and create the tastiest cheese—with minimal environmental impact.

Community park Oosterwolde

At the community park in Oosterwolde

Veenmeester 's cheese factory is now located at Ecomunitypark, a sustainable business park in Oosterwolde, Friesland. Several innovative companies are based here, all with the same goal: future-proof and value-retaining business practices.

At least half of the Ecomunitypark business park is green, and investments are also being made in biodiversity. This creates a healthier work environment for our cheesemakers. This is important, as it allows us to continue to guarantee the signature taste and texture of Veenmeester .

BREEAM certificate

At Ecomunitypark, the focus isn't just on nature. We also address sustainability in areas such as energy, water conservation, transport, and waste management. As a result, the business park was the first in Europe to achieve the highest possible BREEAM certification.

Further towards CO2-neutral cheese

By establishing ourselves at Ecomunitypark, Veenmeester is making an even greater contribution to a sustainable world. We also continuously benefit from the expertise of the knowledge center, allowing us to continually take another step towards our goal: CO2-neutral cheese by 2034.

Veenmeester Sustainable Cheese

Eytemaheert partner of Veenmeester

Eytemaheert Nature Farm is partnering with Veenmeester to produce sustainable cheeses made from circular dairy. The small-scale farm in Roderwolde practices nature-inclusive, circular agriculture, which protects and enhances the natural environment.

In practice, this form of agriculture means no pesticides, artificial fertilizers, or unnatural feed are used. The Blaarkop cows on the Groningen farm, for example, are entirely grass-fed and live a good, as natural life as possible. You can taste the difference.

Unique cheeses made from special milk

Thanks to this new partnership, Veenmeester is now the only company in the Netherlands to produce cheese from Eytemaheert cows. This marks a new chapter in sustainable cheesemaking. And more importantly, a new product line: Weldaad.

You'll soon be able to find our Weldaad cheeses on the shelves of your local cheese specialist. Come try them and be amazed by these unique cheeses made from special milk.
